Episode 7 of The Last of Us contains a gigantic easter egg of Mortal Kombat, which was already glimpsed in the first trailers and promotional images.
One thing that in the original game (you can find it on Amazon) was only hinted at, with the classic puppet cabinets that only vaguely resemble famous games.
But that in the last episode aired, which also contains an Uncharted easter egg, is instead clearly explained.
And while episode 7 of The Last of Us of HBO is obviously bombarded with negative reviews, there is someone who has appreciated the presence of Mortal Kombat.
From now there will be plot spoilers for HBO’s The Last of Us. Continue reading at your own risk.
It is obviously Ed Boon who, as reported by The Gamer , was struck by the presence of his creature within such a beloved series. strong>
The last episode resumes the entire narrative arc of the DLC Left Behind, in which Ellie and Riley live part of their lives together.
Sharing, among other things, a series of arcade video games, including Mortal Kombat 2.
The two start playing and Ellie doesn’t turn out to be a great fighting game player , unfortunately, and she loses against Riley who, on the contrary, seems much more experienced.
A very beautiful scene, as is the rest of the series, which particularly struck Ed Boon.
I don’t remember the last time I was hooked on a show as much as THE LAST OF US.
So seeing Mortal Kombat featured as prominently as it was last night was a huge thrill. pic.twitter.com/itu3rQdKMr

Mortal Kombat is such an iconic franchise that it has also ended up in one of the most loved and pop series of the moment. Who knows when it will be Injustice‘s turn, which, it seems, will return sooner or later with the third chapter.
In the meantime, however, Mortal Kombat 12 was announced, albeit quietly, in a way that we certainly didn’t expect.
