Microsoft continues to significantly resize its videogame sector, because other mass layoffs are about to arrive that will involve Xbox.
This is what Bloomberg reports and, in short, it is to be trusted (unfortunately for Xbox).
Xbox is preparing to undergo another significant wave of layoffs next week, as part of a wider reorganization at a corporate level.
Sources close to the plans, which remained anonymous, have revealed that the internal managers in Xbox expect consistent cuts throughout the group. Microsoft refused to comment on the news of the Bloomberg report, but looking at what has happened in recent months it will not be a great surprise, unfortunately.
Just at the beginning of the month the last wave of layoffs had arrived, and it was only yet another 2025.
This will be the fourth large cycle of layoffs that will affect the Xbox division in the last 18 months, following three important staff reductions that took place last year and the closure of different subsidiaries.
Xbox, head of the production of hardware and videogame software, is under pressure by Microsoft’s managers to increase profit margins, especially after the titanic acquisition of Activision Blizzard for 69 $ billion.
Already previously, Bloomberg News had reported that Microsoft plans to cut thousands of jobs next week, mainly in the sales sector. The technological giant is used to carry out important organizational changes near the end of its tax year, which ends on June 30th.
And to think that, according to the latest detections, it seemed that the trend of sudden and massive layoffs could go back. Obviously it is not really that way.
We will also see the general transformation of Xbox where it will go to parry, since there is also a portable console and the integration of Steam which has been mentioned many times and now begins to be reality.
