Metal Gear Solid is undoubtedly one of those titles that it is almost impossible to speak ill of, if not due to a certain aging in game mechanics, given that the game is now well 23 since its original release.
Capable of overwhelming the videogame medium, the first Metal Gear Solid has certainly changed the way we see action and adventure games in the cinema.
It’s no surprise that Hideo Kojima’s masterpiece is about to become a film with Oscar Isaac as the protagonist Solid Snake.
After all, just a few days ago another chapter of the MGS saga had turned years, although this time we are talking about a game capable of raising various controversies after its release.
It was September 3, 1998 and the first episode of the Kojima saga was released on the first 32-bit PlayStation – at the time – still in the pay of Konami .
Thanks to a truly amazing cast of characters, from Solid Snake, passing through Liquid Snake , Revolver Ocelot, Vulcan Raven and many others, the title immediately gained undisputed acclaim from critics and audiences , becoming an instant classic immortal.
One of the strengths was also and above all the ability to break through the fourth wall often and willingly, getting to involve the player beyond the screen with some really brilliant ideas.
The title got a remake for Nintendo GameCube, Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes , released several years later but with Kojima only as producer .
Even today there are many players who consider the first and original MGS the best of the series, without taking anything away from the various sequels released over the years on PS2 and PS3.
We have been discussing for some time the possibility of seeing a real remake soon, perhaps planned exclusively on PlayStation 5 consoles.
It’s also true that fans are still waiting for a possible remake of the first MGS, although in the meantime an AI has already shown what the 4K remaster of Metal Gear Solid 2 could look like.
Not to mention that Kojima himself has recently revealed another secret about FoxDie , relating to some specific copies of the game that would have been “ infected ” by the virus. p>
