Max Payne turns 20: wishes from Remedy (with easter egg)

Max Payne turns 20 today , and developer Remedy has decided to celebrate it in a totally unique way.

The game created by the Control team was originally launched on July 23, 2001 for Windows PC (and less than six months later for PlayStation 2).

Few people know that a multiplayer mode was originally planned for the game, a detail revealed on the occasion of his 17th birthday.

Despite not showing up for a few years, the series continues to inspire new titles, like this one that has just been unveiled.

Remedy celebrated its 20th anniversary with a special video posted on its Twitter channel this morning.

In the video, you can see the actor behind main character Max Payne, creative director Sam Lake , and his voice in the game, James McCaffrey .

The clip sees the two thanking the community for the affection shown to this day and Lake, creator of Quantum Break as well, picking up the iconic leather jacket in which he starred in Max Payne. .

The ending is a special tribute to the game , which we do not anticipate but we are sure it will give you goosebumps.

In the social sharing, Rockstar Games, current owner of the IP, and 3D Realms , which had collaborated in the development, were also tagged.

Rockstar has re-shared the trailer, wishing a “Happy Birthday Max!” , although it seems a long way from the saga at the moment.

As you know, the studio is currently focused on GTA 6 , although work is progressing silently behind the scenes.

His next appointment, however, is for the end of the year with GTA V next-gen, scheduled for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S.

As for Remedy, however, a multiplayer spin-off of Control and an all-round sequel were announced a few weeks ago.
