It was July 25, 2001 and Max Payne was released on PC, relative to the American market. We are talking about one of the most important third-person shooters, developed by Remedy.

The story tells of a DEA fugitive cop and a former NYPD detective whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a robbery that is linked to the case of Valkyrie (an extremely powerful drug). Max, blinded by revenge, decides to act undercover to fight a personal war against crime.

The game was particularly appreciated at the time thanks to the presence of bullet-time able to slow down the time, giving rise to shootings never seen before.
