Marvel Snap, the publisher in trouble: the game at risk of closure [ADJ.]

Update 11/27 5.40pm\r\nAfter the news of the layoffs within Nuverse, developer Second Dinner has published an update regarding the status of Marvel Snap on X:\r\n\n\t Dear SNAPPERS, Some of our players have expressed their concerns regarding reported structural changes at Nuverse. We wish to thank you for your concern and assure you that regardless of any changes at Nuverse, SNAP will continue to operate and flourish in the future!— MARVEL SNAP (@MARVELSNAP) November 27, 2023\n\n \n\r\ n\r\n«Dear SNAPPERS, Some of our players have expressed their concerns regarding the structural changes reported to Nuverse.\r\nWe would like to thank you for your concern and assure you that regardless of any changes in Nuverse, SNAP will continue to operate and prosper in the future!»\r\n\r\nDespite the news, therefore, it seems that Marvel Snap will not suffer any repercussions.\r\nOriginal news\r\nIt seems that ByteDance, publisher of Marvel Snap with Nuverse, intends to abandon the video game market.\r\nThe digital card game inspired by the superheroes of the House of Ideas, which have also invaded Amazon, is therefore at risk of closure\r\nCapable of being a gold mine especially thanks to the proceeds derived from microtransactions, Snap also has a truly passionate fanbase on its side.\r\nAlthough the new features revealed in the 2023 content roadmap also seemed to herald a 2024 that was up to par, it seems that things could instead go differently, and for the worse.\r\ nAs reported by Reuters, it appears that ByteDance is restructuring Nuverse, which would put the future of the popular trading card game at risk.\r\n”We regularly review our businesses to make adjustments to our long-term strategy in areas of growth”, explained a ByteDance spokesperson.\r\n”Following a recent review, we have made the difficult decision to restructure our gaming business”, he concluded.\r\nThe card game on Marvel characters would not have reached the numbers that ByteDance hoped for, despite an active and involved community.\r\nAt the moment, therefore, it is not clear whether ByteDance’s changes will translate into problems in terms of future support for Marvel Snap, even if things don’t seem to be going well.\r\nObviously, the hope is that the card game can save itself from oblivion, perhaps by passing on to a new publisher willing to take the reins.\r\nIn the meantime, a few weeks ago We took some time to review Marvel Snap with the aim of answering a specific question about the game.\r\nSticking on the topic of games about the characters of the House of Ideas, it seems that Venom should have had a bigger role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as only 10% of its recorded dialogue was used.
