Left Alive: Square Enix talks about the recruitment of Metal Gear Solid artist Yoji Shinkawa

One of the most interesting aspects of Square Enix’s Left Alive is definitely the character design of one of the most famous artists from Japan, namely Yoji Shinkawa, known for the Metal Gear Solid series.

At gamescom 2018 in Cologne, DualShockers got to talk with legendary producer Shinji Hashimoto, who explained the dynamics of this partnership with the Kojima Production artist.

“I’ve known Kojima-san for a while now, we’re almost the same age and I’ve talked to him for a long time, I think it’s been over ten years, and he’s someone I respect a lot in the industry. I was also responsible for the Square Enix merchandising division, but I’m not involved in this at the moment, but I’ve been dealing with action figures for some time.

In addition to doing things for our properties like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest, we also do second-party figurines. If there is a series in which there are great characters, we want to help them make them happen. We have made many figures of Metal Gear Solid, and of course we have worked with Kojima-san and Yoji Shinkawa himself for a while.

We talked (with Shinkawa, N.d.R), and I asked him if he wanted to do something together. “

Regarding a possible participation with Kojima: “At the moment he is very busy with his game, I do not think he would have time to work on other projects, but as I said, we have a good relationship with him and maybe we could discuss something in the future.”

Left Alive will arrive on PlayStation 4 and PC (via Steam). How much do you expect? Tell us in the comments!
