Lara Croft is also about to land on Switch, this time for real

It was 2021 – seems like a lifetime ago, huh? – when it was confirmed for the first time that Lara Croft would also soon land on the Nintendo Switch. Since then, however, our favorite archaeologist has had a decidedly eventful 2022, which is why throughout the year that is about to end, there has been no news on this front.

Or, at least, there hadn’t been until a few hours ago. Feral Interactive which is in fact taking care of the porting in the handheld version, has recently confirmed that in 2023 we will finally see Lara Croft and the Guardian of the Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris also on Switch (find the Lite on Amazon at an attractive price).

At the moment we still don’t have a precise launch window (let’s hope this doesn’t mean it will end up like the previous announcement), but the authors replied to a somewhat disheartened fan, on Twitter:

«Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light/The Temple of Osiris will now arrive on Nintendo Switch in 2023. We look forward to letting you know more next year!».

Among other things, there is also the possibility of a physical release for the two games, which would make cartridge collectors very happy.

When asked about this, Feral replied that «we will certainly consider it

strong>, but at the moment nothing has been finalized yet”.

Seems to be 2023

So it’s worth waiting; The Guardian of Light was originally released in 2010 (here the review), The Temple of Osiris instead saw its debut in 2014 (here the review). Both are spin-offs of the main saga that focus on exploration and puzzle solving, with an artistic direction that is well linked to the isometric view.

We talked about an eventful 2022 for Lara Croft because, as you will remember, Square Enix has decided to get rid of the intellectual property, which has passed under the aegis of Embracer Group.

Just a few weeks ago we learned that something is already boiling in the pot for a new video game starring the iconic heroine, in collaboration with Amazon Games – so recover the two spin-offs on Switch could be a great way to pass the time in view of the debut of the next main chapter.
