Death Stranding , the first project from Kojima Productions , was originally released for PS4 in November 2019, before to arrive later also on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in July 2020.
The personal computer version has a higher frame rate, photo mode, support for ultrawide monitors and crossover content with Half-Life .
Now, in a recent video interview (via VGC) the dad of Metal Gear Solid Hideo Kojima talked about the PC version of Death Stranding and how much gaming (and users) means to him on the computer:

When I started in this industry, I worked on PC games. It’s been a while before I started creating console titles, so I have a lot of affection and affinity for the personal computer. The games are developed on PC, after all.
Kojima confessed that Death Stranding was released for PC in an attempt to attract a new audience: “PlayStation players and PC users are two very different things, two markets apart.” Hideo also said he was “very proud” that Kojima Productions developed the PC version as a game in its own right, rather than converting it effortlessly.
«There is a lot of specific users on PC, so we tried to include features and gimmicks that would make the platform fans happy» . And again: «Another problem was the mouse controls. I’m not very good at playing with a mouse, but the PC version was supposed to support that control system, but setting it up was tricky. I left it to our staff, however. I play with a controller . »
Finally, Kojima added: «What might be the most important aspect is that PC gamers are really very opinionated and stubborn when it comes to gaming, create something that satisfying them was very complicated. However, I’m glad I accepted the challenge, as people are quite happy with the result. “
We remember that in October 2020 the official confirmation arrived that Kojima Productions is working on a new video game, still shrouded in mystery. If you want to find out (or, why not, rediscover) what we think about Death Stranding , check out our video review strictly without spoilers.
