Is Resident Evil 5 Remake really in development?

Resident Evil’s saga continues to catalyze the attention of fans through the world of remakes, but the latest revelations of an insider in the sector are redefining the expectations of the community: while many hoped to soon see a modern reworking of the controversial fifth chapter of the series, the reality seems to be very different from what has been imagined.
The insider Dusk Golem, a reference figure for the advances related to the Japanese horror franchise, clarified through social media that there would currently be no remake project for Resident Evil 5 (via Thegamer).
It is not the first time that the Insider denies these rumors, with the declaration that came in response to the growing speculations that saw the 2009 title as the next natural candidate for a modern reinterpretation, following the wake of the successes achieved with the renewed versions of Re2, Re3 and the most recent Resident Evil 4 (of which you find the Gold Edition on Amazon).
Contrary to popular expectations, Capcom’s attention would be concentrated on completely different projects: the insider confirms that the remakes currently in development would instead concern Code Veronica and Resident Evil 0, with the first who apparently is proceeding in a particularly promising way.
The success of this production derives mainly from the involvement of most of the team that worked on the remake of Resident Evil 4, thus guaranteeing a qualitative continuity in the creative process.

The situation of Resident Evil 5 therefore remains suspended in a limbo of conditioned possibilities: according to Dusk Golem, a future realization of the remake will depend exclusively on the persistence of the demand of the fans and the alignment of different variables still indefinite. This perspective leaves room for hope, but does not offer concrete temporal certainties to the admirers of the fifth chapter.
From a temporal point of view, Resident Evil 5 is in an ideal position to benefit from a remake treatment, considering that almost two decades have passed since its original release, which took place in the now distant 2009. However, at the moment Capcom’s priorities are certainly others, with the public publication conscious of how the fifth chapter has not been welcomed by many historical fans.
For the moment, fans can certainly wait with moderate optimism the arrival of the ninth chapter, or Resident Evil Requiem, which we have already been able to preview for you.
