An alleged leak on Intergalactic: The Heretic Propeth, the new game in development at Naughty Dog, is generating a discreet ferment between fans and professionals.
According to 4chan by a user who claims to have worked al QA of some builds between February and May 2025, the title would mix intense narrative elements à la last of us part II (which you find on Amazon) with the stratified exploration typical of soulslike, and a combat system inspired by God of War of 2018.
Clearly, it is information to be taken with the pliers, given the non -verifiable origin of the source.
However, if even partially they were truthful, we would find ourselves in front of an extremely ambitious project, structured in a series of semi-open macro-areas, defined in the leak as “Nested Sandbox”: vast but contained settings, connected to each other through elements of crossing such as Planate, Parkour and anchor points called “Faith Anchors”, also useful for unlocking checkpoints of travel checkpoints quick.
The fight, according to the leak, focuses on the physical and visual impact. It will be possible to concatenate attacks, jumps and shots to create dynamic combo, while some weapons – such as the gun seen in the trailer – will allow you to hit weak points visible only during certain enemy animations.
You can also “break” arts to weaken enemies or apply state effects through special tools, giving strategic depth to the clashes. However, the system does not seem to focus on juggling as in the Devil-like, but on a more reasoned and heavy approach.
From a narrative point of view, the setting is described as a planet buried among the ruins of failed civilizations, isolated from 600 years after the lockdown imposed by a technoculti-suggestions that evoke Elden Ring, but transposed into a dark, almost mystical sci-fi context.
The protagonist, a bounty hunter, will be able to dialogue with other characters through a wheel dialogue system, even if social interaction seems limited: many sections will be faced in stealth, or completely avoiding hacking or negotiation.
From a technical point of view, we speak of Build tested on PS5 Pro, with advanced visual effects and a dynamic lighting engine that changes the atmospheres of the areas based on the “planetary phase”.
The sound sector will vary from environmental drones to “metal” religious choirs, up to Rock explosions – a mixture definitely out of the box.
Finally, the presence of “Relics” is mentioned, equipped objects that will act as modular builds, enhanceable and interchangeable, to suggest a strong RPG component.
The leak ends with the indication of an internal launch window set for the end of 2026, with the possibility of a complete film trailer at The Game Awards 2025.
If all this turned out to be true, Intergalactic could represent a bold evolution for Naughty Dog, embracing more complex play formulas without sacrificing its narrative brand. Meanwhile, let’s be satisfied with the LEGO version.
Intergalactic could “merge” The Last of Us, God of War and the Souls
