Here we go: Geoff Keighley streamed a special event to announce the nominations for The Game Awards 2025.
And it is also the day to share news with our readers: for the fifth consecutive year, after its debut in 2020, Gameshift is among the publications that will be part of the specialized jury that will nominate the best games of the year.
The jury is made up of specialized newspapers from all over the world, with our editorial team participating as a representative of Italy.
The complete list of finalists reflects the names that were circulating in the predictions, divided by important categories. In fact, some titles emerge that make you dream: Hollow Knight: Silksong, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Hades 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, along with many other proposals.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 leads with 12 nominations, becoming the most nominated video game in The Game Awards history. Sony Interactive Entertainment is the publisher with the most nominations, 19.
These games, according to many fans, could take home the Game of the Year award or other important categories.

After complicated years in the industry, these nominations could be a sort of “restart” year, where even the most unusual games find space alongside the giants. I remind you that the final ceremony of the Game Awards 2025 will also be visible on Prime Video, thanks to a new collaboration between Geoff Keighley and Amazon.
In short, the TGA nominations have turned the spotlight on an impressive list of titles (from unforgettable metroidvanias to the most poetic indie games) and the window on who could really win opens with great fascination.
In any case, The Game Awards 2025 will be held on the night between Thursday 11th and Friday 12th December.
