Anyone who has been able to play the Halo saga at least once will know that Master Chief is one of the most fascinating and enigmatic protagonists of video games: a charm mainly due to the fact that fans have never managed to see him without his helmet.\r\ Not at least, this is as far as video game territory is concerned: in the official Halo TV series broadcast on Paramount Plus, the protagonist of the series often ends up showing his face, to the point that it is ironically very rare to be able to see him as he appears in the video games (find the complete saga on Xbox Game Pass, available on Amazon).\r\nAnd for fans who were hoping for a change of direction in Season 2, even the new poster and the latest official trailer made it clear that Master Chief will continue to almost always showing himself without his iconic helmet. But why is there such a clear change compared to video games?\r\nAs reported by IGN.com, the actor Pablo Schreiber explained that the reason would simply be to create empathy with the spectators: it would in fact be difficult to convey emotions if the protagonist’s face is always covered by a mask.\r\n\r\n«I’m sorry, but it’s the only possible choice for a long-term television narrative. What I would say to anyone who disagrees is that I respect their opinion.\r\nBut it’s a pretty simple place to start when you’re talking about producing a quality television show.”\r\n\r\nAn explanation came in reality already during Season 1, but which still hasn’t convinced fans in the slightest: there are those who have even modified the Season 2 poster to give Master Chief his iconic helmet again.\r\n\r\nMoreover, there is there are also those who point out that the statements of the star of the Halo TV series do not seem to have much confirmation in reality: there are several examples of heroes – and villains – who hardly take off their masks in films and television shows, but who have fascinated nonetheless many spectators.\r\n\r\nWhatever your opinion on the subject, it will be better to get used once again to seeing the face of Master Chief often in the TV series: the production does not seem to want to change its mind on this point.\r \nIf you are waiting for a new Halo video game, there could be good news in sight: in fact, it seems there is a new chapter in Unreal Engine 5 in development from 2022.
