GTA Online will pull the plug on two console versions very soon, as announced today by surprise by Rockstar Games.
The prolific multiplayer mode debuted with GTA V back in 2013 and is starting to leave behind some older platforms.
The news comes quickly but, with the date now set for the release for the next generation of consoles, it doesn’t surprise that much.
And, for the moment, there don’t seem to be any more shakes planned for games like Red Dead Online that have recently gone standalone.

Rockstar Games today announced that GTA Online for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, in its original guise, will close its doors this year.
We already have a date for server shutdown , which will no longer be accessible in the original variants of multiplayer mode.
This date, announced on the official Rockstar blog, has already been set for next December 16, 2021.
In addition, Shark Cash cards will no longer be able to be spent starting September 15th, ironically two days before the game’s eighth anniversary.
The next day, September 16th , the stats tracking sites of GTA Online, LA Noire and will also stop working Max Payne 3 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
«Please note that these changes are strictly for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online , and will not impact your login or progress in story mode of Grand Theft Auto V », and the same goes for the other two games.
It is always good to keep in mind that, despite its age, GTA V continues to be one of the best-selling titles in Italy and in the world.
This obviously only pushes away the presentation of a new chapter, although there is already some idea of how it could happen.
Some information on how the game will work seems to have already been leaked, and clearly betrays the ambitions for this sixth chapter.
