GTA 6 has officially exceeded GTA 5 in YouTube views with its second trailer, beating a record that had resisted for over a decade.
The discovery emerged thanks to a Reddit user, who compared the numbers of the two videos: the original trailer of GTA 5 (game that you find on Amazon) of 2011 had stopped at just over 123 million views, while the most recent one of GTA 6 has just exceeded that threshold, reaching 123 million in just two months.
This is a surprising goal, considering that the GTA 5 trailer had had over ten years to accumulate clicks, while that of GTA 6 managed to us in a fraction of the time.
The first trailer for GTA 6, on the other hand, continues to fly to even higher peaks, with over 263 million views, consolidating itself as the second more viewed videogame trailer ever on YouTube, immediately after that of Subway Surfers, a primacy that continues to leave many fans perplexed.
The publication of the second trailer of GTA 6 took place by surprise, without any notice by Rockstar Games.
This unexpected release had an immediate effect on the public, attracting millions of users in a few hours. The video offered new views of the history of the game, focused on Lucia and Jason, the two protagonists immersed in an setting inspired by Florida, in the historic Vice City (which apparently will be really huge), but with a much darker and more current narrative cut.
The viral success of the trailer once again confirms the incredible media strength of the Rockstar franchise.
GTA 6, even before arriving on the market, is in fact already writing its legend. Not to mention that the game could introduce a feature expected from GTA 5: have you read what I’m talking about?
