It’s hard to think that a film about Gran Turismo can tell a story that really happened, but, well, it will.
Not a story that is told in the seventh chapter, which you can find on Amazon, but still a story related to the racing game franchise.
Through the big screen in a production that, meanwhile, is gaining an increasingly interesting cast over time.
At the beginning of 2023 we also saw the first trailer of the film of Gran Tourism which we now know will be based on a true story.
As Empire reports exclusively in its online version, the Gran Turismo film will be strongly linked to a real story which revolves around the brand.
The film, described as a “high-octane race car thriller” , directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9), tells the true story of a true pilot.
Or rather of a person who became a driver, or rather Jann Mardenborough (played by Archie Madekwe), a boy from the north of England who went from driving online to actually getting behind the wheel , when he was selected for the GT Academy after showcasing his virtual driving skills.
The actor can be seen in the photo above, released exclusively by Empire, together with David Harbor who is in the cast of the film with names like Orlando Bloom and Geri Horner.
The director, in describing his approach to the film, confirms his desire to set a new standard with regard to vehicle-based action films: “They are real actors, in Real cars, on real race tracks, driving insanely fast,”, he told Empire.
A theme that had already arisen some time ago, when the Gran Turismo film was a candidate as a point of reference in terms of filmography relating to the automotive industry.
A particularly interesting aspect of the film is visible at the end of the first official movie: it seems that the production has listened to a “criticism” by Yamauchi, adjusting the official logo of the feature film.
