Kazunori Yamauchi, the boss of Polyphony Digital, spoke via PlayStation Blog announcing that the 2018 edition of the Gran Turismo Sport Championships officially took off.

The competition – open to anyone who wants to participate – will last from June to September, ending with the regional and world finals in October and November. The last match-ups for the Gran Turismo sports championships will be hosted in various locations around the world and will be shown in live streaming.
