Bad news for the fans of Danmachi and of the Action RPGs with anime dyes: Battle Chronicle, also known as Dance, is preparing to say goodbye definitively to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and beyond.
The developer Aiming Inc. officially announced that the game will be removed from the digital stores on 30 July 2025, together with all paid content, including the virtual currency that can be purchased.
The servers will remain active only for those who have already downloaded the title, but the definitive closure is set for September 29, 2025.
Launched as a free-to-play action RPG based on the popular animated Danmachi series (Dungeon ni deai or Motomeru No Wa Machigetteiru Darou Ka?, Of which you find everything about Amazon), Battle Chronicle had attracted the attention of fans for his graphic sector in Cel-Shading, dynamic fights and loyalty to the original narrative universe.
Yet, despite the team’s efforts, the game was unable to carve out a lasting space in the competitive free-to-play market, as admitted in an official declaration:
«Our team worked tirelessly to improve dance, trying to offer our players’s best possible experience. However, we have reached a point where it is difficult for us to maintain a level of service that lives up to expectations. With deep regret, we made the difficult decision to end the game service. “
In the unstable panorama of the-A-Service games, the closure of dance is added to a long list of anime-based titles that are unable to survive the long distance, thanks to a community that tends to focus on a few reference products and an increasingly overcrowded Live Service offer.
All that remains is to hope that Danmachi can find a new life in other future projects – perhaps in a premium and narrative formula, that he manages to enhance the strength of his characters and his world.
Staying on the subject, did you read that days ago a cult Konami also has been removed forever by the PlayStation Store?
