Last September this year, Sony confirmed the arrival of a new episode of God of War expected on PS5 consoles and obviously developed by the studio Sony Santa Monica .

From the little information released so far, this second chapter of the franchise’s “soft reboot” will bring Kratos and his son to compete with the advent of Ragnarok , in a Nordic setting very different from the locations seen in the previous episode.

When exactly the new God of War will be released, we currently don’t know. Now, however, a doubt raised by GameRant colleagues could make “fear the worst”, namely that the development of the new chapter could last until 2022 .

Only today, in fact, we announced that some rather important titles coming to PS5 have changed their launch windows, namely Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal and Horizon: Forbidden West.

This is, in fact, the release window of some of the most important games scheduled for 2021 (both in the first and in the second half), which is why the absence of a mention of the God of War sequel could worry and not a little the fans.

In the first teaser trailer shown to the world, the new adventure of Kratos was released for 2021, news never confirmed later by Sony. That based on some decisions made by the publisher and not yet disclosed to the public, the next God of War may have been postponed to 2022 ?

The news currently has no official confirmation (fortunately), although fears obviously remain quite vivid. We will keep you updated.

God of War is available exclusively on PS4 consoles. The sequel, generically expected over the next year, will bring Kratos and son to the northern lands.
