The latest HoYoverse livestream event officially unveiled what’s new in update 2.8 of Genshin Impact , dedicated entirely to the summer season and which will bring many new features.
Although this is what can be considered an accompanying update for the popular free-to-play, waiting to receive official news on the highly anticipated version 3.0 , the Summer event Fantasia promises to be particularly important to Genshin Impact fans (you can find many themed products on Amazon).
Genshin Impact update 2.8 will be officially available starting from July 13 , in less than two weeks, and will allow many travelers to return to explore the Golden Apple Archipelago , with new realms, more exploratory gameplay and at least one new character (via TheGamer ).
The new update will allow you to recruit Shikanoin Heizou , a new character 4 star previously announced ahead of update 2.7.
But the news did not end there: the Summer Fantasia event will offer many upcoming news, among which there will be the possibility of summoning the 4 star Fischl heroine for free , as well as being able to unlock a new costume dedicated to her.
Of course there will also be space for online co-op gameplay , with new challenges that you can face in the company of your friends thanks to the Reminiscent Regimen event.

The appointment to mark on the calendar is therefore set for 13 July, which will allow you to spend a pleasant summer session in the company of your favorite free-to-play characters.
Many of the most anticipated new features, including the increasingly probable Dendro element, should instead be available starting from version 3.0: a leak has already revealed many of the new characters arriving.
The anticipation, however, does not seem to have made all fans happy, dragging some heavy controversy with it: Genshin Impact has in fact been accused of racism and, to be more specific, of whitewashing of the new characters.
