GameStop is holding a contest, and the prizes include 10 hours of extra work

In the US, GameStop is holding a contest for store managers, offering them several prizes – including one that is quite questionable.

The contest requires staff from each store to submit a fun video on TikTok to headquarters, with the best players getting some awards.

Rewards include an Echo 8, an Echo Auto, a $ 100 Visa gift card and 10 additional hours of work to use during the Black Friday week.

This latest award has sparked the indignant reactions of community of players on the net, taken aback by the fact that recognition is the possibility of working more than usual.

However, despite the scary wording, things are at least slightly different than they seem.

As explained by some users on ResetEra , the contest is reserved for store managers and this much-discussed prize consists in the possibility of having another ten working hours paid to be assigned to their employees.

This means that the employees of the winning shop will have another ten hours to share with the related salaries, in one of the busiest and most profitable weeks of the year – Black Friday 2020.

A practice that is not exactly exciting from the point of view of the workers but which, if nothing else, has an explanation, however weak it may seem.

Although it is almost nowhere to be found for day one, you can continue to keep an eye on the PS5 page on Amazon for when it becomes available again
