Final Fantasy XVI was recently the focus of a long presentation, thanks to an entire State of Play dedicated held during the evening of April 13.
While we are also waiting for the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake (find the Intergrade edition at a really attractive price on Amazon), the players eagerly await the next chapter of the Square saga.
Now, following the news shown at the State of Play, it really seems that the fans haven’t been idle.
As also reported by Games Radar, in fact, a fan would have managed to set up the game map of FFXVI, putting together all the information released so far.
A die-hard Final Fantasy 16 fan put together the game map using pre-existing footage and developer interviews.
Using the FFXVI official site, the State of Play game presentation from last week and the recent PAX East 2023 panel, one player was able to perform a small miracle.
He has indeed put together the complete map based on the world of Valisthea. The fan-made build can be seen below and revolves around the game’s regions divided into different parts, as Final Fantasy 16 will not be a fully open-world game.

We already know that in Final Fantasy 16 there will be four main explorable areas, which are the core of the Valisthea map.
The fan in question bet that these are the areas of Rosaria, Sanbreque, Dhalmekia and Waloed, as well as the fact that there would also be smaller areas, including the imposing Crystalline Dominion and the Fallen Northern Territories, where Jill comes from.
It hasn’t been confirmed that these smaller areas will actually be playable, so it’s possible that we won’t be visiting all of the areas listed on the fan-made map. However, this seems quite vast in terms of size and scale, even if the four main areas are the only important locations in the final game.
Many fans in the comments to the Reddit post are betting that we will visit these areas but that the entire map will change throughout the game. Considering that one of the main plot points of Final Fantasy 16 is the arrival of a real plague that will bring the world to its knees, it is likely that we will see parts of the game map wear out as Clive’s story progresses.
Meanwhile, Final Fantasy XVI has begun to climb the charts of best-selling games on Amazon US and EU, also thanks to the dedicated State of Play.
