Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is available: here’s what’s new

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is finally available, and Bethesda chooses the day of its tenth anniversary to remind us why the title set in the Commonwealth has become a point of reference for the entire post-apocalyptic genre. Ten years after that November 11, 2015 which opened the doors of the Contaminated Zone to millions of players, Bethesda Game Studios is celebrating with an edition that aims to be the definitive version of one of the most beloved games in its history.
Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is now available on Xbox Series The edition includes the base game and all six official add-ons, for a total of over 100 hours of content that retraces – and renews – the entire epic of the Survivor of Crypt 111. But the real novelty is the presence of over 150 Creation Club objects, including content never published before, which promises to give new life to the raids between Boston and the Commonwealth.

As if that wasn’t enough, Bethesda is also introducing a new feature set to change the way players interact with the Fallout universe: Creations Mode. This is a completely renewed menu that finally makes it simple and immediate to discover, download and use the contents developed both by internal studios and by the community of professional and passionate modders. An important step forward, which further unites the official experience and that created by fans, placing the emphasis on freedom and customization – which have always been the two cornerstones of the Bethesda DNA.
Interestingly, the new Creations menu will also be accessible to those who own previous versions of the game. You will therefore not need to purchase the Anniversary Edition to enjoy the new features: just update your Fallout 4. An operation which, in an industry often marked by paid upgrades and questionable practices, sounds like a rare act of respect towards one’s community.
For owners of the Standard Edition or Game of the Year Edition, Bethesda offers dedicated upgrade paths, while Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to access official add-ons and the Creation Club through two customized upgrade options. And for those wondering if the experience will also arrive on Nintendo consoles, the answer is yes: Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
With this new version, Bethesda seems to want to close a circle. Fallout 4 has been loved, criticized, modded, reexplored and reinterpreted for ten years. Today he returns more alive than ever, updated and ready to once again tell his story of survival and hope in a destroyed world. A return that not only looks to the past, but renews the promise of a future in which the saga can continue to evolve without losing its soul.
