Epic Games plans to continue expanding, as well as offering games and special offers week after week.
Only yesterday, in fact, the Epic Games Store presented the new free games for PC, reserved for owners of an account on the online store.
Now, as also reported by Gameindustry , the acquisition of ArtStation , a famous platform dedicated to digital artists, has been announced.
The commissions on the platform will be reduced from 30% to 12%, with Pro members able to reap even greater benefits.
«With Epic, ArtStation will continue to operate as an independent branded platform, collaborating closely with the Unreal Engine team », Epic said in an official statement.
«By joining forces, the ArtStation and Unreal Engine teams will be able to empower the creative community with extensive tools, resources and connections», the statement continues .
Secondly, the agreement will make the video streaming service ArtStation Learning totally free for subscribers to the service for the rest of the year.
ArtStation is in any case only the latest in a series of significant acquisitions by Epic Games.
Since the beginning of 2019, the company has acquired 3Lateral, Agog Labs, Psyonix, Twinmotion, Houseparty, Quixel, Cubic Motion, Hyprsense, SuperAwesome, RAD Tools, Tonic Games Group, Capturing Reality, as well as – incredible but true – an entire North Carolina shopping mall, transformed into their new headquarters.
We remind you that on Gameshift you will find the updated list with all the titles included since the launch of the Epic Games Store free games initiative in 2018 to date to find out what you missed.
But not only that: if you play on PC and have an Amazon Prime subscription, remember that you can get your hands on five free games in May.
If you want to equip yourself with a gaming PC to shop on the Epic Games Store (or take advantage of free games yourself), check out this notebook on Amazon.
