33-year-old Canadian actress Ellen Page – who became famous in 2007 thanks to the film Juno – has announced that she is transgender. Elliot Page , this is his new name, has asked fans to be identified from now on as male only.

Page starred alongside Willem Dafoe in Beyond: Two Souls ( Beyond: Two Souls ), a 2013 video game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. In 2019 the game was also released for Windows PC.

The actor has taken on the (virtual) shoes of Jodie Holmes , a girl who learns to live with a supernatural entity named Aiden who will defend her with some extraordinary powers.

Elliot then continued in the post, adding that: «The truth is that, while I feel deeply happy right now and know how many privileges I have, I am also afraid. I’m afraid of invasiveness, hatred, ‘jokes’ and violence. To be clear, I am not trying to dampen a happy moment that I celebrate in its entirety, but I want to address the whole picture. The statistics are truly astounding. Discrimination against trans people is widespread, insidious and cruel, with dire consequences. “

Finally, the actor also reported that: “ I love being trans. I also love being queer. And the closer I am and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and thrives. “
