Dying Light 2, the new update “revolutionizes” the game

Techland has announced substantial changes to the movement system that will eliminate one of the most discussed limitations of the franchise. This transformation arrives in a crucial moment, while the Polish study approaches the launch of the next chapter of the saga, scheduled for September 19th.
The so -called “stamina patch” for Dying Light 2 Stay Human (here our review) marks an epochal turning point for fans of the urban parkour in zombie sauce. In fact, the new version 1.24 eliminates the resistance costs for the fundamental movements of the Parkour, allowing players to cross Villedor with unprecedented fluidity. A choice that responds to the requests of the community, which has been criticized for some time towards the limits imposed by the original system.

The implementation, however, will not be universal: the changes will apply only in specific stages of the game, before the “Pilgrim’s Path” quest and after the completion of “Markers of Plague”, two key moments of the narrative.
Despite the elimination of stamina constraints for the parkour, Techland has maintained this mechanics in other crucial areas of the gameplay: combat, underwater swimming and use of the paragliding will continue to request careful management of the resistance. A choice designed to balance the freedom of exploration with the typical survival tension.
Parallel to Dying Light 2 updates, the study organized a free weekend for the first chapter of the series: from 21 to 25 August the players will be able to immerse themselves in the experience that defined the standards of urban survival-horror, ideal opportunity for those who want to approach the franchise or rediscover their origins.
Patch 1.24 also includes a wide range of technical corrections: unclear messages in the co-op sessions, bugs that dropped the characters under the map and several system crashes that compromised general stability.
On the extra content front, the G.R.E. also arrives Mascot Bundle, which introduces a costume inspired by Globby the Elephant, the ancient mascot of the G.R.E., together with new projects for equipment, including a special weapon and a clothes -shaped grenade, adding a touch of dark irony to the arsenal of the game.
These interventions prepare the ground for Dying Light: The Beast, the next chapter of the saga that will further expand the Techland narrative universe. Stamina changes could represent a test for mechanics intended to become central in the future titles of the franchise. The reworking of cutscene and dialogues, together with the graphic corrections, confirms the attention of the study to the overall experience.
Techland’s approach to balance the demands of the community with its own artistic vision highlights a design maturity that bodes well for the future of the series, demonstrating how the industry can evolve through constant dialogue with the players.
