Disco Elysium, layoffs for ZA/UM: canceled DLC and new games

The history of Disco Elysium, the tormented masterpiece of 2019, is intertwined with that of the current world of video games because, according to a report released by sources close to the development team, it seems that a considerable number of people have been fired, with the consequent cancellation of others projects including new games and an expansion for the award-winning role-playing game.\r\nThe developer ZA/UM was already embroiled in a surreal and very complicated legal issue, which was resolved some time ago apparently peacefully.\r\ nBut things seem to only get worse unfortunately because, according to a report released by GLHF Sports Illustrated, around 24 employees are at risk of redundancy within ZA/UM, the equivalent of a quarter of the company’s current total workforce .\r\nThe cuts appear to have come hand in hand with the cancellation of a project codenamed X7, which was supposed to be a standalone expansion for Disco Elysium.\r\nZA/UM president Ed Tomaszewski said stated in a staff meeting that X7 was 1-2 years away from completion, and that it may have required more time and effort than was spent on Disco Elysium.\r\nAs for layoffs, however, the CEO Ilmar Kompus communicated them to the staff in an internal message, revealing that the workforce cut relates to the team dedicated to X7, but also to the non-development teams and \
