Those who closely follow the world of video games know it: Devolver Digital does things in a very unique way and all of its own – and that’s perfectly fine. Over the top, witty, satirical, the company behind recent goodies such as Card Shark and Trek to Yomi – to mention some of the latest ones we talked about on our pages – back even in the absence of E3 with a conference of its own .

During last year’s event we could see Shadow Warrior 3 , Trek To Yomi and Death’s Door in action (you can find it at Instant Gaming ), but once again the focus on the occasion of the announcement is certainly not on the big revelations that could come. Instead, it is about satirizing the absurd communication that often surrounds video game marketing .

Infinite countdowns, new episodes that are bigger, more beautiful, more [insert variable at will here]: gamers are now used to it and sometimes it is difficult not to flounder in the midst of these media bombardments. Devolver knows this and has decided to tease them in his way.

This is how your lecture, which will last about 30 minutes , is will be titled Devolver Marketing Countdown to Marketing . That is, Devolver’s marketing countdown towards marketing – which would then be the presentation of the next games.

The event, presented by a mecha version of Suda51 (…), does not spare any hits even in its announcement (via Stevivor):

«Based on extensive consumer research and our own tests, Devolver scientists have learned the countdown to a conference is when audience expectations are highest, before the inevitable disappointment arrives ».

The Devolver conference will be held at 00.00 Italian on 10 June . We will see what Devolver Digital will have to reveal and, of course, with what tones it will do it.
