For some time now, rumors about new projects by Hideo Kojima have been reigniting, in particular related to a potential Death Stranding 2 , still not officially announced but on which more and more confirmations arrive.
The latest Kojima Productions masterpiece was in fact a great success, thanks also to the launch of the beautiful Director’s Cut (which you can find on Amazon) which paved the way for a potential new chapter .
All fans will in fact remember Norman Reedus’ sensational statements about the start of work on the second game: a “leak” that does not seem to have gone unnoticed even by Kojima himself, although he has not yet directly confirmed everything officially.
And as new mysterious posters pop up that may – or may not – be related to this new project, a well-known insider recently confirmed that Death Stranding 2 would indeed be in the works , also revealing what its internal codename would be.
Tom Henderson on Insider Gaming in fact reports a comment by leaker Dusk Golem on the ResetEra forum, which reveals not only how the code name assigned to the sequel is « Ocean », but that it would once again be a PlayStation exclusive , presumably only out on PS5 . p>
Dusk Golem claims that any rumor claims that Death Stranding 2 has never been planned with partners other than Sony is not true: the new chapter was therefore never proposed either to Stadia or to Xbox.
As revealed by the insider, Sony and Kojima Productions would in fact have an existing contract for more games which will end with the next chapter: only after the release of the second chapter , both companies should consider whether to renew it or whether to continue each on their own path.
Dusk Golem’s reaction inevitably looks like a strong reaction to Hideo Kojima’s report on a new game on Stadia which, if his claims were confirmed, would therefore not be true.
Of course we invite you to take everything, as usual, with the necessary precautions : we remind you that Death Stranding 2 has not yet been announced by any of the parties involved , despite the aforementioned statements by Norman Reedus and the many confirmations that have arrived in the past few hours are feeding more than a suspicion. We will keep you updated promptly if further news arrives.
