The new cinematic trend seems to be adapting as many video games as possible, and Days Gone is one of the next on the list.
The title with zombies and motorcycles by Bend Studio, which you can still find on Amazon, has been among the bastions of the PlayStation 4 in a historical period that seems very distant.
A project that, however, did not manage to become the success that the developer and Sony had hoped for, with a case related to the sales numbers.
But the game was so popular that the news of the cancellation of Days Gone 2 sparked furious reactions from fans, and the developers likewise didn’t give up on words at least.
We recently learned that Days Gone is the next video game IP to be in the sights of film productions.
The production is in the hands of Vendetta Productions , a company owned by Turner and Jennifer Klein , as well as producers include Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan for Sony PlayStation Productions.
Scottish-born actor and star of the TV series Outlander Sam Heughan was cast to play Deacon … but the developers of Days Gone em> are not happy.
former Bend Studio staff members, John Garvin and Jeff Ross , have expressed their disappointment with the production’s casting choice, as reported by PlayStation Lifestyle.
– John Garvin (@John_Garvin) August 20, 2022
Basically the two disagree because Sam Witwer, who played Deacon in the video game , was already perfect according to the developers.
Responding to their followers, Ross and Garvin said they hope to be consulted for the film project . Garvin, in particular, says he would like to be given credit for creating the world, characters and story of Days Gone .
Also echoing the developers is Cory Balrog, director of God of War , who on Twitter supports the opinion of former members of Bend Studio.
Disappointed with the casting choice, developers can now focus on their new project , which we already know something about.
The movies and TV series based on video games are becoming so many that it is difficult to keep up with them. Here is the complete and constantly updated list.
