Cyberpunk 2077 , since its launch at the end of last year, has ended up in the eye of the storm due to the unacceptable conditions of the version old-gen of the game.

While the CD Projekt game met expectations (especially on PC), it took dozens of patches and hotfixes to make it at least playable on PS4 and Xbox One.

In any case, the game has recently changed game director in view of the now upcoming expansions, thus saying goodbye to Adam Badowski.

Today, the developer announced its financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year, covering the period January 1 to March 31, 2021.

The presentation begins with a glance to the update roadmap for Cyberpunk 2077 , with the goal of making the game a long-term success.

The Polish-based studio aims to support the game for some time , with a large number of free DLCs and corrective patches which should arrive throughout 2021 (and beyond).

CD Projekt also confirmed that it had seen an increase in revenues of 2% on an annual basis, while the net profit would have instead decreased by 65% ​​.

A lower net profitability is also and above all due to the depreciation of game development expenses, in addition to updating work and research and development activities related to future projects.

These expenses are recognized as costs for the current year and are not subject to capitalization.

Nielubowicz also added that 40% of Cyberpunk 2077 development expenses have been recognized as a cost in the release quarter, while 60% will be amortized over a five-year period of economic use (at 3% per quarter ).

Furthermore, the chief financial officer has announced that “it is a long-term project, but we consider it essential if we want to efficiently develop two large AAA projects in parallel” .

Despite everything, however, the game is still out of the PlayStation Store and does not seem to be close to returning to the online catalog.
