Cuphead The Delicious Last Course, MDHR Studio explains the postponement: quality and no crunch

Chad Moldenhauer, co-director of Cuphead , explained in a note sent to Kotaku the reasons behind the postponement of the DLC The Delicious Last Course .

Initially scheduled for this year, the additional content, which will include a new playable character, has been shifted to 2020.

“Our highest priority is to ensure that this new adventure respects the meticulous level of care and quality we have always pursued”, Moldenhauer revealed.

“We want to be absolutely sure that this next adventure feels at home in the world of Cuphead and is full of moments of surprise and pleasure for the players”.

The MDHR Studio exponent has also made it known that “the development of the original game has taught us so much about the importance of doing things in a way that is healthy and sustainable for our team”.

A reference to the desire not to resort yet to the practice of crunch so much criticized, and at the same time abused, in industry lately, for which even US presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has biased towards creation of trade unions for developers.
