Civil war in Konami? Metal Gear Survive hides a message for old Kojima Productions

A few years ago, we pointed out some indiscretions reported by Nikkei, who spoke of a not really ideal work environment within Konami. The Japanese company has never denied these rumors officially and today, with the release of Metal Gear Survive, a clue suggests that there is still a tense atmosphere within the company.

The players have in fact discovered a secret message within the game, which praises the old Kojima Productions (now merged with Konami) and addresses those who are not exactly compliments to the two heads of development: the lead designer Yota Tsutsumizaki and the producer Yuji Korekado.

In a list of codename in the game, which you see in the image below, it has been observed that the initials of soldiers’ surnames make up the phrase “KJP forever”, or “Kojima Productions forever”. At these words, follow the names of “Bastard Yota” (like Tsutsumizaki) and Cunning Yuji (as Korekado). We could translate them as “Yota the bastard” and “Yuji the shrewd”, or “Yuji the sneaky”.

It seems, in short, that part of the team has felt the need to find a way to express his bitterness for the departure of the old team and the divorce from Hideo Kojimaâ € “in addition to that to buck the two bosses of development some epithet.

Metal Gear Survive is available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. We have already proposed our first impressions in the article dedicated, while the first international critics colleagues who have already assigned their vote to the game have remained on mostly algid evaluations. We’ll see how it will go in the next few days and what will be the consumer response. In addition, we will also see if Konami will comment on this easter-egg leaked on the Net.
