2023 has been terrible when it comes to jobs within the world of video games and, among many, CD Projekt Red has had to cut staff in recent months and it may not have been the last time.\r\nLast July the Polish company had announced, in an unstoppable trend of companies from the beginning of the year to today, that it had cut staff within its own companies.\r\n”There is no simple way to say it, but today there are too many of us”, said CEO Adam Kicinski, announcing the dismissal of around 9% of his entire team, with around one hundred people who will have to leave the company by the first quarter of 2024.\r\nAnd while the workers of CD Projekt Red subsequently managed to gain the creation of a union after great effort, the announcements of the layoffs could hide other implications.\r\nBy checking the social accounts of the company’s properties, specifically the Facebook accounts of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher, a decidedly particular and unexpected message appeared just now.\r\nIn the respective profiles, which you can find respectively here for Cyberpunk 2077 and here for The Witcher 3, a communication was released to the community:\r\n\ r\n«Starting tomorrow, all communications in Italian on the social channels of our franchises will be interrupted until further notice. To stay updated on upcoming news you can follow our global pages on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and Tumblr.\r\nFor technical problems relating to our games, you can send a ticket to support at the following link: https://support.cdprojektred.com/it»\r\n\r\nThe short notice and the words chosen leave predict that CD Projekt Red has decided to cut investments relating to communication for Italy through the social network. This means, quite simply, cutting the staff of the marketing and communication divisions responsible for creating content for the platform.\r\nObviously we are awaiting a clarification from CD Projekt Red, which we will not fail to report to you as soon as it arrives.\r\ nTo end CD Projekt Red’s year on a positive note, if nothing else, Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition has finally been announced after much chatter, and you can already find it on Amazon.
