CD Projekt RED has never hidden that it has achieved excellent revenues for 2020 thanks to the release of Cyberpunk 2077, the roleplaying game action that has become a small media “case”.
The ambitious action RPG has also been available again on PlayStation Store for a few weeks, after a long period of absence.
The Polish software house itself is also satisfied with the stability achieved so far, which silences those who thought that CD Projekt was in dire straits.
After all, the return to the PlayStation catalog has allowed the game to sell a greater number of physical copies than in the past, which should not be underestimated.
Now, CD Projekt Red has officially announced the acquisition of Canadian developer Digital Scapes .
The two companies have been collaborating since 2018 and signed the acquisition agreement during March of this year.
Digital Scapes may not be too well known to most developers, although they still helped CDPR during the lengthy development of Cyberpunk 2077 .
According to the press release (via TheGamer ), Digital Scapes has contributed to the optimization of the game for three years .
But that’s not all, as Digital Scape’s track record is truly remarkable: the company was formed in 2012 by industry veterans from the likes of BioWare, Radical Entertainment and Relic.
Since its inception, he has worked on franchises such as Dying Light, Company of Heroes, Dead Rising and Mass Effect .
The Canadian-based studio specializes in assisting other developers in various areas, such as multiplayer, animation, combat design, cloud services and more.
It is unclear at the moment what Digital Scape will be targeting now that it has officially become an integral part of CD Projekt, although it is likely that the team will be able to continue in this supporting role , rather than directing a new project.
Coming back to Cyberpunk 2077 , after returning to the PlayStation Store CD Projekt openly recommended playing the title on PS4 Pro and PS5.
In fact, it seems that on PS4 the game is still very imperfect and bare, a choice due to the desire to reach a stable 30 frames per second first.
Finally, WitcherCon will be held on 9 July, the themed event in which CD Projekt will obviously also attend with all its latest news.
If you like CD Projekt games, you can give The Witcher 3 a chance thanks to the great price offered by Amazon.
