A new report from VGC reveals that Call of Duty Warzone will play a central role in the presentation of COD 2021.
The latest installment in Activision’s shooter series, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War , had a first kind of integration but this time around, the plans would be much bigger.
The next episode has been confirmed to be in development at Sledgehammer Games, the Call of Duty WWII development team.
Apparently, the game should be set in WWII, just like WWII .
According to VGC , however, the reveal is not expected to take place in the frame of E3 2021 this week, but later in the summer.
This presentation «probably» will happen with an event in the free-to-play Call of Duty Warzone , as it was with Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War last year.
This year’s title is confirmed as Call of Duty Vanguard , and would be out on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S to November .
Vanguard would have a regular campaign set in the European and Pacific theaters of World War II.
The focus of the story would be on the birth of the modern Allied Special Forces, while there would also be the classic multiplayer and Zombie modes.
The plans for Call of Duty Warzone would be very broad, as it would be directly linked to the new chapter.
There would be «a significant amount of content planned for the battle royale, which officially will move to a World War II setting ».
This move would happen despite the delays on Black Ops Cold War that brought an 80s setting into Warzone just a few months ago.
There is a new map in the plans, «the biggest and most ambitious ever» , which should pop up simultaneously with the launch of Call of Duty Vanguard em>.
There would also be new vehicles to traverse this huge map located in the Pacific and a technology upgrade based on the Modern Warfare engine (such as Vanguard ).
There are no very short-range plans for the presentation, but as we know, Season 4 of Call of Duty Warzone will be revealed tomorrow.
In this regard, the first details relating to the story have already arrived, which should give more body to the season on the launch pad.
We had already seen a leak about a new free-to-play map, and at this point the pieces of the mosaic seem to be all falling into place.
If you want to experience the game that Warzone was born from, all you have to do is retrieve the acclaimed Call of Duty Modern Warfare
