Bungie who announced the decision to postpone the launch of Marathon without a precise date, the expected shooter scheduled for PlayStation 5 and PC.
The team promises updates by the end of 2025 in the official press release, leaving fans waiting for concrete news about what was supposed to be one of the most ambitious titles of the year.
The date originally set for September 23 is now a memory, replaced by a generic commitment towards the improvement of the gaming experience.
In a post published on the official Bungie website, the developer said:

«Through every comment and conversation in real time on social media and discord, your voice was loud and clear. We took this to heart, and we know we need more time to forge Marathon in the game that really reflects your passion. After many discussions within our development team, we made the decision to postpone the release of 23 September. “

The extra time granted to development, according to Bungie, will serve to “give the team the opportunity to create the intense and high risk experience on which a title like Marathon is built”. This means deepening the relationship between developers and players.
The study specified that he wants to improve the survival game, double the commitment on the universe of Marathon and add more social experiences. This will translate into meetings with the best IA in the Pvpve project, a richer environmental narrative and a higher experience for both single players and for two teams.
The press release concludes as follows:

«We will make ourselves heard again in the autumn, when we can share the progress we have made, together with the new release date of the game. Thanks again for your patience and, more importantly, for your passion. Your continuous feedback will help us make Marathon the incredible gaming experience that we all know may be. “

It had been said several times that Marathon would not have been the new concord. In a sense it is true, because Marathon seriously risks not even going out.
