During the Xbox media briefing, Microsoft presented a short teaser with the new chapter in the Battletoads series, which will bring one of the historic Rare team brands to Xbox One and Windows 10.
The teaser, however, did not reveal any particular information about the game and we did not know, at least until now, even the name of the studio in charge of the work.
With Rare working on Sea of Thieves, in fact, it was clear right away that it would not be the English software house to deal with it.
In an interview with GameReactor.eu, head studio Craig Duncan unveiled that Battletoads is being developed at Dlala Studios, a young British home founded five years ago and located near the Microsoft first party team.
Dlala Studios has presented, as confided by Duncan, an “incredible” pitch that has found the approval of Rare, which this time will be entrusted with a purely supportive task.
“Rare is very focused on new IPs and Sea of Thieves, and that’s what we do,” he explained, referring to new intellectual properties evidently not yet presented.
“And, you know, we’ll help them, it’s a Rare brand, it’s one of our franchises”.
We hope to find out more soon, considering the fact that Battletoads is scheduled for 2019 already.
