Netflix has finally given the green light to the long-awaited live-action series based on the famous Assassin’s Creed videogame franchise, giving shape to a project in progress since 2020.
At the helm there will be two weight names of contemporary television: Roberto Patino (Westworld, Dmz) and David Wiener (Halo, Homecoming), both as creators, showrunners and executive producer.
The series promises to be a high voltage thriller, centered on the millennial war between two hidden factions: a determined to shape the future of humanity through control and manipulation, the other engaged in the defense of free will.

In perfect consistency with the original Ubisoft material (which you find on Amazon), the story will wind through key historical periods, alternating different characters united by the struggle for the fate of humanity.
According to Margaret Boykin, content manager of Ubisoft Film & Television: «We are excited to work with Roberto, David and Netflix to bring this beloved franchise to life. We want to offer an experience that honors what fans love Assassin’s Creed, but which at the same time knows how to fascinate a completely new audience. “
Patino and Wiener said: “Every day we work on this series, we feel excited and humiliated by the possibilities that Assassin’s Creed offers us. Behind the show, the parkour and the action, there are deeply human stories: people looking for a purpose, fighting with identity, faith, power and desire. But above all, it is a series that speaks of the value of human connections, through cultures and centuries. And of the dangers that we face as a species, when these connections break. “
This series will be the first live-action project developed as part of the multi-year agreement signed between Ubisoft and Netflix in 2020, and represents the beginning of a new transmedia phase for the Assassin’s Creed brand.
Other contents also in production, but this will be the first real challenge in bringing a world to the small screen that, since 2007, has captured millions of players.
An official release date has not yet been announced, but with the now started project and the well -defined creative team, the filming can be expected to start by 2026. For fans of the assassin brotherhood, the wait for the jump of the faith will still be long, but increasingly concrete.
