A few days ago, the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise was finally revealed, which appears particularly rich in news also thanks to the chapter known as Assassin’s Creed Codename Red .
After the well-known Valhalla (which you can find on Amazon at a very low price), fans are waiting for the next chapters of the successful saga produced and developed by Ubisoft
Among the novelties shown just a few days ago, the curtain has also been raised on Assassin’s Creed Codename Red (working title) which will be set in feudal Japan . p>
If in the meantime someone has already thought of making comparisons between Red and a beloved PlayStation exclusive, apparently the game could send lovers of oriental atmospheres into ecstasy .
As reported by The Gamer , the Assassin’s Creed team led by Ubisoft Quebec will be supervised for Red from the study of the company based in Japan .
But not only: local consultants will also be involved in the development «in the interest of authenticity and cultural sensitivity », in order to replicate on screen a historical fidelity never seen before in a video game (or at least, so we hope).
Set in feudal Japan, Assassin’s Creed Red is shaping up to be another long, 200-hour chapter in the series’ history and an important foundation for Assassin’s Creed Infinity , whatever it is.
With the aim of representing foreign culture in the most authentic way possible , the Ubisoft Quebec developers will then work closely with local consultants and collaborate with the Japanese division of the company.
Furthermore, the project will be a first test case for the team regarding diversity, inclusion and accessibility , as reported by Axios .
Ubisoft will reportedly try to avoid being criticized for “cultural tourism” and other issues related to the representation of East Asia. Several other Western developers who have worked under the same conditions have in fact already faced various criticisms , including Sloclap, authors of Sifu .
Although the last few chapters of Assassin’s Creed , such as Odyssey and Valhalla , have mostly been praised by fans for their achievements in terms of diversity and carefully recreated cultural identity, there are still various obstacles that Ubisoft is called upon to overcome .
Staying on the subject, did you read that in these hours the leaker who disseminated information on Assassin’s Creed Mirage would have done mea culpa before the expiry of the embargo?
