Alan Wake 2, the sequel to the famous Remedy title, is still in the works, although after the announcement the game has almost disappeared come on radar,
Except for Alan Wake Remastered, an edition for the new generations of the first chapter (which you can buy at a discount on Amazon), news about the new chapter is really scarce .
Although the first chapter did not turn out to be a commercial success, there would have been no slowdown on Alan Wake 2, which reassured the fans.
Now, after Remedy boss Sam Lake let loose about the state of play, the development team returned to talk about the game, calling it scary.
The development of the awaited Alan Wake 2 seems to be going swimmingly and it is now clear that the sequel is the biggest project of the Finnish developer.
In an interview with Games Radar, game director Kyle Rowley talked about how the game has not only been in development for almost thirteen years, but also how it has grown over time, as this time it will be a true survival horror strong>.
“What I’m saying is that we absolutely want to put a stake, since we are creating Remedy’s interpretation of the survival horror genre. The gameplay, the storytelling, the atmosphere, the music: everything plays in unison, and this has been very important to us from the beginning», explained Rowley.
The studio members also reported how Alan Wake 2 will be easy to digest for both new and longtime fans. Having outgrown the original should therefore not be a requirement to fully enjoy the sequel.
«When we created the concept of Alan Wake 2, we were well aware that we wanted to create an experience that was welcoming for everyone: both for new players who are new to Alan Wake or the Remedy Connected universe, and for our fans who have taken the journey with us and enjoyed the previous games. Of course, if you have already played the chapters of the Alan Wake series, Control and the Control: AWE DLC – there will be many connections, story pieces and familiar faces to discover».
If all goes according to plan, Alan Wake 2 will be released on PC, Playstation and Xbox later this year, albeit outside an expected and promised release date for 2023, there has been nothing other than the first trailer.
But that’s not all: important news arrived some time ago for those who love the cursed writer, as the first game will become a TV series from the producers of The Walking Dead.
