Alan Wake 2 was one of the most surprising announcements among those coming out of the night event of The Game Awards 2021.
The sequel to Remedy Entertainment’s beloved title will be released in 2023 and, according to Sam Lake, we’ll know more over the next year.
Confirmed therefore one of the latest rumors that have emerged about the title, which in fact saw him among the protagonists of the Geoff Keighley kermesse.
Alan Wake 2 was announced last night , with a very short teaser and additional summary information provided by Sam Lake himself.
The sequel to the Bright Falls writer’s adventures had already been cryptically mentioned in one of the latest Control DLCs, and now we know it exists.
Alan Wake 2 will be a survival horror , a genre that Sam Lake calls more appropriate for this new incarnation of the series, and will be connected to Remedy’s shared universe .
However, in a post from the Official PlayStation blog, Lake points out some interesting details for what will be the plot of the game :
«However, I’d like to point out that knowing our previous games is not absolutely necessary to fully enjoy Alan Wake 2 but, for those interested, they would be useful for adding background elements.”
Who knows it’s not even a completely autonomous story ? It would make sense considering that many have approached the franchise thanks to the remastered version of the first chapter.
Aside from that, Sam Lake left us on the cool side during The Game Awards 2021, but promises that in 2022 we will know more about this highly anticipated title.
