Artisan Studios has published a new gameplay trailer dedicated to Lost Hellden, the next Action JRPG that will arrive on PlayStation 5 and other platforms on yet to be defined. The movie offers a clearer overview of the proposed experience, showing combat sequences, exploration and some settings that immediately capture attention.
The team describes Lost Hellden as a game capable of merged frenetic fights in real time with the exploration of scenarios with a strong visual impact. One of the most evident stylistic choices concerns the use of fixed chambers, a solution that gives the settings a retro touch in the 90s JRPG style, remembering the pre-receipt seabed of the great classics.
The combat system instead focuses on fast, dodged and special skills, restoring a decidedly more modern feeling and close to the standards of the contemporary action. This combination of old school and innovation represents the heart of the identity of the project, which wants to contact both nostalgic fans and those looking for a more dynamic experience.
To sign the music is Hitoshi Sakimoto, a composer famous for jobs such as Final Fantasy XII and Valkyria Chronicles. A name that guarantees epic and suggestive atmospheres, capable of worthily accompanying the adventure. On the artistic side we find Takeshi Oga instead, an illustrator who has contributed to the unmistakable style of Gravity Rush and who brings his imprint here in a world halfway between fantasy and science fiction.
Artisan Studios is not new to the public: we remember him for Astria Ascending, a JRPG with a splendid aesthetic but who had not completely convinced the gameplay level. With Lost Hellden, the team seems to want to respond to those critical ones by focusing on a more solid balance between aesthetics, play rhythm and content.
Although a precise launch window has not yet been announced, the new trailer has rekindled the interest of JRPG enthusiasts, especially on PlayStation 5, where the genre continues to live a particularly rich season.
