We’re back to talking about Resident Evil 1, given that it seems that the original cult is about to return to PC.\r\nCapcom’s horror saga (whose chapters can be found on Amazon) has in fact started with the first game , considered by many to be a timeless classic.\r\nAfter the insider known as DanielRPK had revealed that Capcom would intend to revive the original Resident Evil, unfortunately the news was never confirmed.\r\nIn fact, the another insider DuskGolem has denied the alleged confirmations attributed to him on Resident Evil 1 Remake, underlining that he does not believe the rumors at all.\r\nNow, however, as also reported by IGN US, a rating for the PC version of the original Resident Evil has sparked the hypothesis that Capcom is about to release the classic horror game on Steam.\r\n\r\nAn announcement for Resident Evil on PC with a release date of June 18th can in fact be viewed on the PEGI website. At the time of publishing this article, there is still no sign of the game.\r\nResident Evil was first launched on PC in December 1996, just over eight months after its launch on PSone. Nearly 30 years later, the original game is not available on modern storefronts, including Steam.\r\nIn fact, none of the original Resident Evil games are currently available on Valve’s platform.\r\nAssuming this PEGI listing indicates a re-release, the question is which version of Resident Evil is planned for PC: in 1997 a Director’s Cut of the original was launched (a year later the Director’s Cut Dual Shock Ver. was released). \r\nThe Director’s Cut is currently available in the PlayStation Plus Classics library. Some speculate that this announcement indicates that Capcom has a Resident Evil Classics trilogy in store. We’ll see.\r\nIt now remains to be seen whether the game will be republished and whether it will be part of one of the five chapters of Resident Evil currently in development by Capcom.\r\nThis, without forgetting the upcoming Resident Evil 9, so much so that we talk about Leon and Jill as protagonists.
