After Embracer, Gearbox announces mass layoffs

There is no peace for Gearbox because, after being sold by Embracer in favor of Take-Two, the developer announced a series of cuts in yet another mass layoff operation.\r\nThe authors of Borderlands (find the last chapter on Amazon) therefore find themselves having to rearrange their structure, in the now unstoppable wave of layoffs in the video game industry.\r\nIn the hours following the announcement of the sale of Gearbox, testimonies emerged online from people who they found themselves with the now well-known dismissal notice, and now clarifications have arrived.\r\nAs reported by Eurogamer, these dismissals, however, would not be linked to teams working on the development of upcoming games.\r\nAmong these Borderlands 4 (confirmed for the occasion) whose development should not be hampered by layoffs, according to the statement released by the company:\r\n\r\n«As we strive towards our mission of entertaining the world, we are grateful that the our talent and skills are of interest to you and your audience. Embracer Group will continue to report on their restructuring program that has impacted certain parts of Gearbox today that is not related to the development of Gearbox Software games.”\r\n\r\nIt is currently unclear how many Gearbox employees there are been affected, but from the testimonies given by former members of the development team it seems that the list could grow considerably.\r\nTo give an example, public relations manager Jennifer Locke claimed to be one of \
