Bandai Namco and D.A.G have officially revealed Tales of Berseria Remastered, bringing one of the most popular chapters of the long-lived JRPG series to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The arrival is set for February 27, 2026 in Western markets (February 26 in Japan), marking the return of an adventure that won over critics in 2016 for its mature narrative and its layered combat system.
This is the first remastering operation for this title, which introduces substantial graphical improvements and gameplay optimizations designed for modern standards. The launch price starts at €39.99 for the standard edition, with a Deluxe Edition available for €59.99 which includes exclusive digital content.
The game presents the story of Velvet, a protagonist marked by a devastating betrayal that transforms her into an anti-heroine thirsty for revenge. Unlike previous installments in the Tales Of series, Berseria embraces darker and more complex themes, exploring the eternal conflict between emotion and reason as players navigate the archipelago that makes up the kingdom of Midgand.
The emotionally charged narrative was already one of the strengths of the original, and this remastered version aims to further enhance that artistic direction with enhanced graphics.
On the technical front, D.A.G has implemented several quality of life modernizations that will make the experience more fluid for those approaching the title for the first time or for veterans who want to revisit it. Among the new features stand out destination indicators to facilitate orientation in the open world and the possibility of completely disabling random encounters, a feature that eliminates one of the most frustrating grinds typical of classic JRPGs.
Particularly interesting is access to the Grade Shop right from the start of the adventure, which allows you to customize the difficulty and gaming experience according to your preferences right from the start.
The combat system remains one of the aces up the sleeve of the title: action-oriented and based on customizable Artes, it allows you to build devastating combos by collecting the Souls of defeated enemies.
This Soul liberation mechanic allows you to unleash volleys of attacks that make battles spectacular and dynamic, moving away from the classic turn-based to embrace a more frenetic and immediate approach. The ability to adapt the Artes to your playing style guarantees deep customization that rewards experimentation.
The two editions available for pre-order offer differentiated extra content. The Standard edition includes the bonus \
