Bend Studio in trouble, mass layoffs after Days Gone Remastered

Warning news comes from Sony Interactive Entertainment, with Bend Studio, the developer of Days Gone, who would be facing a wave of layoffs.
According to what was learned by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, about 30% of the staff of the study (about 40 people) will be involved in a cut of the staff announced today.
This dismissal follows the cancellation, which took place at the beginning of this year, of a live-service game on which Bend Studio was working after a long time from the release of Days Gone. After this interruption, the study had focused on a new project, the nature of which remains unknown at the moment.

The news is part of a wider context of renovations and cuts in the videogame sector that have affected several studies, including those owned by PlayStation.
Only last March Sony had started other mass layoffs, and waiting for confirmation by Bend and/or the company itself this episode unfortunately becomes only yet another of a trend that no longer ends.
And to think that Bend seemed to have earned new credit with the release of Days Gone Remastered, but apparently Sony is really cutting all possible and imaginable cost.
