The debut on Stellar Blade’s PC, scheduled for June 11, 2025, was hit by a mysterious restriction: the game is blocked on Steam in over 100 countries, including Egypt, Vietnam, Estonia and Cuba (but not Italy). \ r \ n The situation has triggered numerous questions from the fans, above all because the game does not require a mandatory connection to the PlayStation Network to be played. Connect an account to unlock an optional skin for Eve, the protagonist of the game. Just this option could have caused the limitation. \ R \ nné sony nor the Korean Shiftup development team have released official declarations at the moment. Situation. \ r \ nquesta story very closely remembers the Helldivers 2 case, when Sony in 2024 had announced the obligation to connect an account PSN to play on Steam. The episode left its mark, and since then many PC users have wary of Sony policies linked to PSN. The Stellar Blade case, however, shows how also an optional integration can generate restrictions and distribution problems. Even without obligations, the optional integration of the PSN risks limiting the commercial potential of games such as Stellar Blade on PC and to alienate important users. \ r \ nfino when Sony does not really harm his ecosystem on PC, situations like this risk becoming the norm.
