Microsoft could expand its catalog even further by bringing its big names to PlayStation 5.\r\nIn an interview with Bloomberg (via Pure Xbox), Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, left open the possibility of bringing the main franchises of the company on the Sony console.\r\n”I don’t see any red lines in our portfolio that say ‘it shouldn’t be done'”, said Spencer, hinting at the possibility that iconic titles such as Halo, Gears of War and Forza could in future come up PS5. \r\nAn opening that would mark a profound strategic change, given that these series have historically contributed to consolidating the identity of Xbox as a reference platform.\r\nSpencer underlined that, despite having already brought some Microsoft exclusives to PlayStation 5 , there are no definitive plans yet regarding new large-scale collaborations.\r\nThe new Halo, for example, is in development with Unreal Engine, but it is premature to talk about a launch on other platforms.\r\nThis flexible position fits in a context of transformation of the gaming industry, in which the boundaries between ecosystems are becoming increasingly fluid, driven by the growing demand for interoperability between devices and the pressure of subscription gaming services, such as Game Pass (which you can find on Amazon). \r\nIn parallel, Spencer confirmed that Microsoft is working on a portable device to expand its presence in new market segments.\r\nA project that adds to the company’s strategic investments in cloud gaming, another sector that promises to break down the barriers between hardware and platforms, allowing players to access flagship titles on a variety of devices, regardless of the operating system.\r\nThis opening towards other platforms could prove to be an advantageous move for Microsoft, which aims to strengthen its position in an increasingly competitive and dominated by hybrid ecosystems.\r\nIf confirmed, an inclusive strategy would radically transform the concept of platform exclusivity, offering players greater access to successful franchises and pushing the entire industry towards greater integration between historically rival brands .
