There has been no news for some time about the Metal Gear Solid film directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts : the latest update dates back to the choice of actor Oscar Isaac in the role of Solid Snake, although at the moment all the information on the film inspired by the Hideo Kojima saga is missing.
Apparently, the first take may now have moved further away, as Netflix has recently announced the first live-action film from Gundam , which will be directed by Vogt-Roberts. The screenplay will instead be curated by Brian K. Vaughn ( Y: The Last Man ), who will also appear as an executive producer.

Climb into your Mobile Suits! Jordan Vogt-Roberts has been selected to direct and produce the first Legendary live-action film version of Sunrise’s Gundam for Netflix.
Production is being handled by Legendary, with whom Vogt-Roberts made Kong: Skull Island . Netflix has not yet released any information about the story of the Mobile Suit Gundam movie, although the official press release refers to “love stories and battles”, as is traditional for the Japanese animated franchise created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hajime Yatate back in 1979.
It now remains to be seen if the film in question will slow down the work on the first film dedicated to the Metal Gear Solid saga, also given that at the moment it is not clear which chapter of the Konami saga the project will focus on, or if it will be an original interpretation of the story (although some fidelity seems to be assured).

It should also be said that Isaac is currently busy with the Marvel / Disney series dedicated to the character of Moon Knight , whose shooting has just started.
The Gundam film will be released on Netflix at a later date, while in China it is only and exclusively expected to be released in cinemas. Still no confirmation regarding the cast of actors who will take part in the project.
